How to Dub a Video in Your Browser

Choose a clip, record your take, preview, and export.

Load a video you have the right to use, select a short clip, record your voice, check the result, and export.

Step by step

    Choose a video

    Select a video file from your device. MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio is the most reliable format. Around 200 MB is a practical size guideline.

    Pick a clip

    Set a start and end point for the section you want to dub. Clips between 2 and 15 seconds work best.

  3. 03

    Record your voice

    Grant microphone access if prompted. The studio offers an in-app microphone chooser if you have several devices. Record your take and re-record whenever you want.

    Preview the result

    Play back the clip with your voice layered in. A waveform comparison shows whether you started early or late, and 50 ms sync nudges can correct consistent capture delay. The entertainment score gives a fun comparison, not a professional assessment.

  5. 05

    Export

    Export combines your voice with the clip using in-browser processing. Keep the tab in the foreground, as backgrounding it can cause the export to fail.

Supported formats

MP4 with H.264 and AAC is the most widely supported combination. WebM can also work, but browser support varies.

Chrome or Edge tends to provide the most consistent experience.

File size guidance

Around 200 MB is a practical guideline, not a hard limit. Larger files may work but can cause slowdowns or memory issues depending on your device.

If you run into problems with a large file, try trimming it with a video editor before loading it.

Export notes

Export uses in-browser media processing and may take roughly the clip duration to complete.

Export can fail if the tab is backgrounded, the browser suspends it, memory is low, or required codecs are unsupported. If export fails, close other tabs and keep the page in the foreground.
